Series PS Pressure Switches are essentially meant for ON-Off pressure control applications such as air compressor or water pump to control their working between the minimu and maximum setting value, pressure switch contacts close an dstarts the motor.

A speciallycontoured diaphragm sense he change in pressure and actuates a triple pole contact switch,which enables direct switching of 3 phase motors.

The setpoint ( cut-out pressure) and resetpoint (cut-in pressure) area adjusted by a Range screw and differential screw.

A pressure relief valve to relieve the pressue locked at the compressor cylinder head is a available in Model PSU.

A hand lever is provided to lock the contacts in "OFF" position if-required. When set to "AUTO" position, the epressure switch intiates normal operation.

Operating Function

Industrial Pressure Switch (IPS) is an electromechanical device that senses changes in pressure and provides electrical contact closures at predetermined pressure values.

A hydrautically formed seamless Phosphor Bronze bellows senses the changes in pressure and actuates a snap acting microswitch at desired pressure settings. The cut in and cut out points are adjustable over the entire range.

IPS Pressure Switch may be used to activate an alarm or may directly control the process. In an alarm application. the switch protects valuable equipment by an audible signal. In direct control application. the switch can be linked electrically to other equipmeny, for trip or interlock.


IPS Pressure Switches are mean for use with oil, water, air, steam and other non-corrosive pressure mediums. They are NOT designed for use with any refrigerant gases.

IPS Pressure Switches are used on a wide variety of applications which include

The adjustments are conveniently located on top surface of the control. The switch can be set to operate at desired pressure values by adopting the following proceduce.

Decide the maximum pressure at which the switch has to changeover.
Decide the differential at which the control has to oerate.
First set the maximum changeover pressure on the range scale. This can be done by removing the knob and turning the range spindle.
Check the maximum and minimum changeover pressures with a master gauge.


The electricak continuty is maintained between contacts NC & COM under nornal conditions. The contacts changeover to NO & Com on rise of pressure to present value.
Since the electrical contact is of SPDT type, it can be used for reserve applications also.
Coloured wires are used for NO.NC and COM for easy identification.

The presssure control can be mounted on a wall or panel by means of mounting holes provided at the back of the device.

RTSeries of Pressure Switches utilize seamless bellows as the sensing elemenat. Slimplicity of design asn ease of installation has been stressed for reliable use, even in applications where shock and vibrations asre present. The sending elemant can be used for a variety of process fluids.


For corrosive media, viscous fluids and slurries, RT pressure switches perform well in conjuction with diapharagm type chemical seals.

RT series of Temperature Switches have a vapour fiiled thermostatic element, which consist of a sensing bulb, capillary tube and a bellows elemant. The entire element contains a charge which reacts to temperature variations at the sensing bulb, so that pressure on the bellows increases on rising temperature. The bellows movemenet due on this increase in pressure is utilised to operate the switch.

Available in various ranges to control temperature upto 300°c, with high over temperature limits. RT temperatures switches are available with a selection of capillary lengths. The vapour filled system features small bulb sizes masking installation easy.

Wherever, bulb of temperature switch is exposed to pressure, corrosive fluid or high velocity, a thermowell must be used. Thereaded of flanged thermowells, with length and materials as per aaplication requirement are available.
